Welcome to Makalu Arun Social Trek (MAST)! a government registered, fully licensed social trekking company established in Khandbari, in Sankhuwasabha District of Eastern Nepal in 2011 by Sankhuwasabha Education Scholarship Foundation (SESF).
Operating under SESF we organize,coordinate or facilitate community friendly social trekking for you around Arun Valley Makalu region of eastern Nepal. MAST works in collaboration with government line agencies and the local communities, ensuring a win-win situation between host communities and the trekkers. The income generated from this business is used to support SESF children’s education program and its Orphanage Support Program.
Through MAST you will have an opportunity to trek with the help of our local guides and porters at the affordable price. The local people welcome you and provide food, drinks and accommodations services to you. In return you pay directly to them for their services. In this way 100% of the income generated by this trekking business is expected to go directly to the local people.
You are also offered the chance to volunteer along the trekking route as per your choice and interest. These opportunities will be a unique and wonderful chance for you to interact with the local people and study about their authentic rural life.
